Stunning Vtg 40’s liquid satin and tulle handsewn evening gown with gorgeous gathered detail on the bodice, 3/4 length sleeves with gathered cuffs, and 2 layers of tulle over the skirt of the dress. Dress pulls over the head and would not fit over the shoulders of my mannequin. Metal Task zipper up the side. Overall no rips, tears or holes and in absolutely wearable condition but there are some areas of fading and the hem of the tulle is unseen with several places that are torn or ripped. This is a 1980s ‘Tabby of California’ mid-length dress, in a 1940s style with a sweetheart neckline and pleats/gathers near the shoulder area of the bodice. It features a floral pattern in pink, violet, and green. The size has worn off the tag, but from the measurements, it seems to be a medium. Size A, laid flat the measurements are bust 15 in, waist 14 in, strap to hem 40.5 in, and waist to hem is 25 in. Fits like a modern US 8. Made in France. I bought it used and for some reason the previous owner blacked out the style number, but I believe it says style 16401. 100% wool.
