Vintage 1980’s Chloe Cocktail Dress NWT. Dress has not size or fabric description inside it, but black seems to be a light weight/textured tropical wool and white neck line perhaps matte mercury silk. Despite being born in Germany, Karl Lagerfeld was more Parisian than the Eiffel Tower. His work for Chloe, Chanel and his own label has that sort of French insouciance that women love and, let’s face it, look sexy wearing. Black wool crepe has been cut into a strapless dress that is slim through the boned bust and waist and flared slightly at the hem. With a satin-trimmed black tuxedo jacket, the dress is belted with a satin belt with silver buckle that is reminiscent of Cartier’s Love bracelet, with diamond ‘screws » punctuating the perimeter. Lined in black silk crepe de chine, the bodice is boned for supprt. With very high Louboutin Black satin heels and a small diamond minaudiere, this is a classic look for evening. Bust measures 34″, waist 28″ and length 38″. Jacket has a 34″ bust, shoulder span of 15″, sleeve length 24″ and length 19.5″. Vintage Chloe -can- be vintage Stella McCartney but this is really vintage Stella McCartney, somewhere between the infamous Central Saint Martins graduation show and Chloe – a short period from 1995 to 1997 when Stella was making clothes herself off Portobello Road in London. Very much like the sheer Kate Moss dress by Liza Bruce, this metallic Lurex blue/black dress _depends on light and angles) is totally sheer with thin straps. Slightly gathered to one side with bias seams under the right breast, it is tagged a British 10 but you see it here on a 6 mannequin, would also fit a US4. Bust 32″, length 48″. Flawless condition. The full length rob closes only at the neck with a lengthy dual tie. Pleated collar and cuffs. Elastic at the cuffs enhance the puffy sleeves. The stunning slip dress features a sheer lace trim and pleated ruffle along the upper bodice, and again at the knee of the skirt.
Laying flat and unstretched, pit to pit is about 14″. The length is about 37″ from the top of the shoulder to the bottom. Shows normal signs of wear from normal use.
