There are pockets in the front at hip height. There is no size label but the measurements correspond to a size 6 and it was too small for our size 8 mannequin. The condition is excellent. This is a dark blue / navy velvet strapless dress that has a matching bolero vest that attaches to the decorative buttons on the front bust of dress. The vest can be removed if wanted. They both have light blue trim & the dress has a light blue insert at the top front opening at bust that feels like it’s made of satin.
Features a fitted bodice with bust darts and a sweetheart neckline and a beautifully full – three layer skirt that gives it that classic ballerina/princess silhouette. This is an incredibly display-worthy and wearable piece with strong mid century prom and ballerina styling.

Beautiful sturdy construction swing coat with a faille (?) material. It’s ribbed, so the photos strobe a bit. Not sure of the material, maybe a silk blend or rayon. There are some small marks throughout which are shown in photos. I have not tried to clean. There is a tear under one arm. The coat loosely closed measures 46-48” underarm to underarm. I’d recommend for a small to medium frame.

This old skirt is in excellent condition, except that the blue velvet ribbon trim has faded over time. It would be great in a theater play. The waist is very tiny, measuring only 24″. Back in the 1950s all us teenagers had tiny waists.

You know, I could see this being a fantastic wedding dress for those inclined to make the leap into the unknown but no matter how you slice it, this is a dress that is a refreshing switch from black black black. Don’t get me wrong, I wear black all the dang time but when I am certain everyone else is wearing black (or even red), i want the spotlight on me. Don’t you? Suzy Perette from the 1950’s, constructed like an old haute couture dress with an interior gathered skirt lining that fastens at the waist. Ivory silk faille holds its shape without being stiff or making crunchy ruffling noises when you move. Unlined through the gently pleated bodice, the neckline and under the bust is framed in a double flange like a matted picture in a frame. Bow at the right side of the ribcage with a rhinestone brooch that almost looks like a stylized rabbit so with the bow « ears » and the pin and the color, it has a little twist. Zips in back, integrated cap sleeves into the bodice, the bust measures 38″, waist 25″ and length 47″. I swear this is my mother’s body when she was young. I would recommend this for a size 6 with a C or small D cup. If you are small-cupped, it’s probably not the best fit. Excellent condition. No stains – no stains. Did I mention no stains?
