Draped cowled neckline falls in back to a deep vee at the derrière and coccyx bone. Remove and reinforce with existing fabric. Also, gown should be professionally pressed. It has history, was, most likely, lovingly worn and cared for and endured far more years than most of us – in most cases 60 to 100 plus years.

I had to replace all of the buttons on the front with matching buttons in a slightly darker tone, so they don’t match the buttons on the sleeves exactly. Adorable 1950s dress in pretty good condition. There’s some discoloration in a few areas but it could use a new cleaning either way as it sort of smells like an old lady’s closet, for lack of a better term. This lovely slip is made of a silky satin type material. There is lace trimming the top and hem.
Expected condition goven its age, stitching on interior of waist band needs to be reinforced and some wear to the fabric. Fabric appears to be a dark brown gray worsted wool.
