Rarest 1825 Regency Spencer Jacket Rich Emerald « Arsenic » Green Museum Quality!

Offering an outstanding, authentic Regency period short jacket called a Spencer, circa 1825, all-original and in beautifully-preserved museum quality condition. Clothing and accessories from the Regency period are very scarce and rarely found for sale. This is one of two Regency Spencers that I have cherished in my own collection that I began over 40 years ago. I recently sold my red silk, short-sleeved Spencer here on Ebay. This is the only Spencer I have left in my collection and it is a superlative example, with padding for added warmth and beautifully folded and ruched shoulders & upper arms. There is no boning in the jacket but tightly folded and sewn channels provide shape and stiffness. Completely hand-sewn of finest emerald green silk, it displays the talents of its seamstress. The rounded shawl collar is stiffened so it could stand up alone when it was cold, or often merely as a fashion statement. The color of the silk is much deeper & richer than my photos show–my current iphone is on its last leg and needs replacing. Lately my photos seem to wash out some of the colors of my antique clothing. Ruched and padded long sleeves are fuller at the upper arm and taper gently to fasten closely at the wrists with two small buttons. This is true to the fashion of the period as Gigot sleeves filled out and narrowed according to changing fashions. This Spencer originated from Western Europe. The silk is strong and supple with less than expected age wear–there is a place at the ruched upper sleeve that needs a couple stitches that have opened about 1/2 to 3/4″, probably due to the putting on and taking off of the jacket. Otherwise, the only thing to mention is some scattered fading to the brown silk inner lining. The waistband in back features a lovely little detail of a pleated fan. I haven't given any history of Regency fashion, but I'm very happy to answer any questions you may have, so please message me as I am always happy to help. VTG 1940-1950 Black Illusion Dress Crepe Rayon Lace Draped Hips Pencil Elegant

Measurements: pit to pit 32”, waist 28”, hips 38”, shoulder to hem 50”. Hedy Lamar elegant style. Elegant pencil wiggle dress. Draped fabric at hips with bow at back. Nude lined, black lace bodice. Dropped waist. Dolman style short sleeves, deep neck front and back. Back metal zipper. Front slit. Many have listed this dress as 1930s-1940. I have listed it as 40s-50s as this dress has back metal zipper and earlier dresses had side zippers or keyholes neck. Due to the hip construction of the dress it could very well be 40s. The fabric and lace appear to have no holes. The lining has discolorations. Dress needs dry cleaning.

Vintage 30s 40s Sunset Ombre Tiered Full Skirt Long Dress XS Prom Formal VFG

DETAILS: A lovely late 30s early 40s formal dress, so young and fresh! Princess seamed bodice with soft sweetheart neckline accented by a self fabric fold across the top of the bust and a soft bow. Short puffed sleeves have two tiers for extra oomph. The waist is fitted with slightly dropped waist seaming that dips in a vee in front. Incredible multi-tiered skirt that is more than a full circle – the color change offers a hint of drama to offset the overall sweetness, and the skirt will move beautifully for dancing. SIZE: No size label Measurements – Inches Centimeters Bust – 32″ 81.25 Waist – 25″ 63.5 Hips – Free Free Bodice length – 15″ 38 Skirt length – 41″ 104 Sweep – 135″ 343 FABRIC/COLORS: Crisp medium weight taffeta faille in three sunset shades that look great together. The top is butter yellow, the middle goldenrod, and the bottom salmon tinged with apricot. The colors are clear but soft, if that makes sense. Most of the photos show the bodice more tan than it is in real life and show the skirt bottom as rosy pink, which it is not. The most accurate colors on my monitor are shown in the photo on the dark skinned mannequin and the one showing the full circle skirt. TAGS: No tags CLOSURES: Sideseam metal zipper CONDITION: A few faint spots on the back of the bodice and very minor seam stress there – see close-up. Some subtle color variations in the skirt that are not noticeable with the volume and the three tiered color progression.
