Vintage 1940s dark blue rayon dress with trim on the collar and cuffs. MEASUREMENTS (approximate): Bust – 35″ Waist – 25 1/2″ ** Hips – 38″ Length – 45 1/2″ **the mannequin waist is 26″ and it is very tight The dress buttons up the back and has an attached tie belt at the waist. Tiny pockets at the waist. Decent, wearable condition. It does have flaws. There is a white smudge by the collar. The trim on one cuff has a tear, repair, and two brown spots. Some light discoloration on the armpits (the inside is more worn than the outside). See photos for condition. This pretty sweater belonged to my step-mother, it was found in a trunk that contained clothing from the 1950’s and 1960’s. Sweater features 2 front pockets and sleeves can be cuffed or left down. Sweater has been laundered and line dried.
Here’s a fun, boho, full-length Alfred Werner evening dress with satin polka dot skirt, wide lace trim, and bell sleeves. Perfect for dressing up or even for Halloween! I would guess it dates back to the 1960-1970’s. Well-made, but it has a few issues. One sleeve is faded as is about 7″ of the skirt on the same size (just slightly), probably from being hung in a sunny place, but otherwise the dress itself is in good condition. Velvet of the bodice is in very nice condition. The polka dot satin skirt is in good condition (with some loss of white in the dots) except for 2 holes on the left side 6″ above the hem, which appears to have been shortened at some point in time. Lace measures 1.5″ to 2.5″ and is in very good shape. Dress is fully lined with black polyester taffeta. Zipper closing in back (21″). There is no size, but I would guess it is about a size 4-6. This is a lovely 1950’s vintage party dress in excellent condition. The fabric is synthentic, most likely acetate. There is a beautiful lace overlay and pearl and rhinestone embellishments along the scoop neckline. Matching belt with snap closure. There is no size or brand tag. It was most likely custom made for a special event and carefully stored since. The dress is in overall good condition. I noticed one tiny hole in the lace near the waistline, most likely caused by the belt. Side hidden zipper. Tulle sewn into the back of the hem on the second layer.
