The skirt is made in silk and the front of the skirt with the embroidery is in better condition than the back, The back has shattering and splitting. The front has scattered spots and wear. It has an old trunk smell. There is heavier wear at the bottom pleating. There is wear around the waistband. The skirt is lined with several different fabrics. The embroidery is remarkable. The skirt is a witness to the quality of construction of American fashion creators of the 19th century. The waist is 28 inches and the length from waist band to hem in front is 40 inches.
