A black dress is the home base from where we all depart but where it takes you and how you get there is open to interpretation. Donald Brooks will take basic black and add a deep V neckline and slightly Empire waist but punctuate it with a woven satin 4.75″ wide cummerbund in bright rainbow hues, tying in the back with three long black ribbons. Synthetic black matte crepe has some give but is not « stretchy ».Echoed at each hidden snap wrist with little rainbow overlaps, you could wear basically any color shoe and it would be right.
