This was found in an attic with other little things from the 1950s. This dress will need to be gently cleaned. I’ve found oxyclean gets the normal age spots out and Grandma’s stain remover works for what oxy doesn’t.

Vtg Beautiful Handmade Black Tailored Dress Covered Buttons Lace 50’s. This handmade dress was given to me by a friend, her Mom made and wore it. Knowing the family history I would say she made it in the 50’s, the material has a sheen stretchy feel to it. Please note I have not had it cleaned and there is deodorant on the sleeves, it just has been stored in a closet in my home. Trying to downsize so wanting to move it on to someone who will enjoy and cherish this amazing dress, pictures do not do it justice. I made and wore this dress for a friend’s wedding in 1972. The dress would be ideal to take apart and use the tapestry fabric in a skirt or into a renaissance dress. The total length is 79″, the tapestry at the bust is 32″.

It is in good condition with no holes or stains. There is some wear to the fabric. I am not sure what the fabric is and it is labeled handmade so there isn’t a size tag. It seems to fit like a 6/8 or a S/M. Please check the measurements in the photos to make sure it will work for you. It is extra long so be sure to check the length measurement as well.
