Edwardian « Lingerie Dress » (or Tea Gown), likely dating from between 1905 and 1908. These dresses were called « lingerie dresses » because they were made of the same lightweight, white cotton fabrics (like lawn or batiste) and intricate lace insertions used for fine undergarments of the era. They represented a shift toward a softer, more ethereal silhouette compared to the rigid structure of the high Victorian period. The button on sleeve cuff is not original. no holes/stains or tears. The buttons on the dress are velvet and the button on the sleeve cuff is plastic. The dress has pockets. It is rayon. Sleeve 21″.
Dress has discoloration on skirt as pictured. most dresses pictured have a separate Crinoline under so skirts can be seen easier and is NOT included (white) and may be pinned to accentuate features of the item for display.
It can be worn anywhere: Easter services, work, weddings, etc. The fabric is a muted sage green with a muted white polka dots. It is a super soft rayon and the dress is in excellent condition. The button down front is adorn with Mother of Pearl buttons and it has a removable wrap around sash.
This 1940’s long rayon coat was most likely part of a two piece ensemble. It would have had a matching dress of the same fabric worn under it. Eisenberg was a very well known American designer. The coat is in good condition except for the discoloration from age on the shoulders. See photos. I have not cleaned the garment. The bust is 38 inches, the waist is 32 inches and the hips are 40 inches. The shoulders measure 15 inches across the back and the sleeve length is 26 inches. From the shoulders to the hem is 47 inches.
