The fabric is a tightly knit Italian wool, in excellent condition (no moth holes), light grey with contrasting cream color. It is a gorgeous unique piece from the 1960, very Jackie Kennedy. Seam to seam across waistband = 12.5 and the band itself is a tab under 1.75 inches and the length from base of band down is 37.5. The slit is 21.4 inches. seam to seam across hips = 18
