Item Description: Vintage 1980’s/1990’s (exact age unknown) Melissa Petites faux bolero-style hot fuchsia pink midi-length long sleeve dress. Size 4. Made in USA of 67% rayon / 33% acetate (NON-STRETCHY) textured fabric. Electric hot fuchsia color has an almost iridescent quality to it. Sewn-in shoulder pads. Fabric-covered buttons on the front and also at the ends of the sleeves. Popular late 80’s/early 90’s ‘faux’ bolero (cropped) jacket style, which gives the illusion of it being ‘separates’ but is actually NOT a separate piece. Functioning buttons on the front of the ‘faux’ jacket for a more casual look when left opened. Dress is fully lined. Modest 6″ slit at the bottom hem in the back. No pockets. Zipper up the back with a hook & eye closure at the top of the neck. Measurements (all are APPROXIMATE): Waist is 28″; Chest is 18″ from armpit to armpit; Sleeves are 22″ long; Overall length (from the shoulder to the hem) is 40″. Condition: In excellent overall pre-owned vintage condition. No tears or runs in the fabric. **All over ‘pilling’ and ‘snags’ are a characteristic of this type of light boucle textured fabric and are NOT flaws!** There is a very small stain at the top of one of the sleeves where it meets the shoulder. This color is absolutely stunning in person and has withstood the test of time with no fading to speak of. Beautiful 1990s slip dress from All That Jazz. Juniors size 9/10. Mesh border at bust. Spaghetti straps. Tie-back. Dress hanger loops. Floral print has shades of purple-lavender. Flaws: There is a tear in the mesh inset on the back of the dress. There is an area on the lower hem that has come unstitched. Please see photos. Although the tag says dry clean only, be advised that I hand washed this item using a lightly fragranced Clean People detergent sheet. I then hung it up to drip dry. It turned out beautifully.
