NEED TO KNOW: ✦ MOST sales are considered final. Returns can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if there is a significant error in the listing. Time is spent to give accurate measurements on each item, so I unfortunately can not offer returns for items that do not fit. TERRASITA also can not accept returns on undergarments, bathing-suits, or items from the 1920’s or earlier due to their fragile nature. Additional absolutely no returns or exchanges on Layaway items. ✦ Vintage clothing is pre-worn and pre-loved and as a result some pieces may show signs of wear or use. I carefully inspect each item and disclose any signs of wear in our detailed descriptions. ✦ If you have any questions about fit, color, or need any additional photos, please don’t hesitate to ask questions before you decide to purchase. I want you to be happy with your item! ✦ SIZING – Vintage clothing sizing does not reflect modern standards. When determining size, make sure you account for enough room to move comfortably. Additionally, vintage clothing is more fragile and should be worn with this in mind. Occasionally there are seam allowances or darts that can be removed, as well as tailors that can alter a vintage item to fit your particular shape. When determining size I recommend measuring the following: HIPS: measure around the fullest part of your hips. BUST: measure over the fullest part of your bust while wearing a bra. WAIST: measure around the smallest point of your natural waistline. SHOULDER TO WAIST: measure from the very top of your shoulder – where the seam would lie, down the front, over the bust, to your waistline. LENGTH: measure from the top of your shoulder, down the front, and to the point where the hem would be. Inseam measurements for pants would be measured from the inside of the leg at the very top of the groin, down to the hem. ✦ SHOE SIZING – I tale actual measurements inside the shoe from toe to heel, as well as width measurements inside the shoe as accurately as possible. Questions? Just ask and I can help!

VTG 1950’s Fit and Flare Faille Cocktail Dress with Shrug Designer Unknown

This treasure of a cocktail dress is ideal for the spring starlet. Giving us big-time Marilyn Monroe vibes, this approx. circa 1950’s cocktail dress seems to be a custom hand-made piece; an educated guess based on the lack of any labels and very specific measurements. The structure inside is still sound and is a beauty to behold with its neat containment of (likely) light plastic stays. Reinforcement interfacing is laid between the shell and lining of the dress to keep its stunningly pointed sweetheart neckline, giving the front and back bodice a leafy, fairy-esque look. Fabric is some sort of smooth faille, bias-cut, perhaps a polyester synthetic « silk feel ». Matching cardigan is cut from brushed cotton and lined with smooth, comfortable satin. Complete with wide circle skirt made to be filled out with fluffy crinolines in a classic 50’s party style. Bust: 30″Waist: 23″Hip Size: 47″ Shoulder – Hem: 40″Waist – Hem: 30.5″

They tie with velvet small ribbons Please review the pictures SIZE: Very Small. It measures a 12′ shoulder, 24′ waist and about 30′ bust. CONDITION: This beauty has very few flaws. There appears to be some very slight age toning around the neckline and perhaps? on the wrist velvet lace. If carefully inspected several small separations can be found in the lace that are both hard to find or see with the black silk backing. Overall in wonderful condition for both the materials and age. CARE: This garment is not brittle, however, please note that antique silks are extremely delicate and any rough handling could create damage. Garment should be gently re-shaped and perhaps stuffed for a while with either 100% white cotton fabric or acid-free tissue after storage/shipping. Acquired in a true Victorian/Edwardian estate and guaranteed of the period. For your reference please see the last picture of watered silk ribbon found in with other textiles and wound on part of a 1873 bank advertising card. Additionally (sold last year), were writing paper backed crazy quilt squares that showed dates in the 1860’s. Many pieces of sterling silver flatware bore engraving dates in the 1850’s.
