4216 Here is an amazing antique 1880’s woman’s fitted bodice extensively beaded and decorated with braid and lace. The piece was probably an evening, fancy dress item. There are two styles of black glass buttons alternating up the front; one is acorns and oak leaves, the other is decoratively swirled leaves.
Authentic late Victorian (c. 1880s) overskirt, a beautiful example of the complex drapery of the Second Bustle period. The foundation of the skirt is a very heavy rich burgundy/plum-toned damask velvet with a classic floral-scrolling motif and heavy decorative pleated hem.
