1940s navy suit with a style known as "sportswear" when originally made! This was a casual version of a ladies' suit, including a tunic style jacket and flirty A-line skirt in a flared bias cut. Jacket has a notched lapel, three pocket front, and unfitted straight sleeves. Skirt has slant pockets and its stripes are diagonally set with a chevron seam to center front. Polka dot rayon scarf included is WWII era as well. This suit was meant for ladies with work to do in the 40s... think Edith Head and Katharine Hepburn. Ladies' Size 6 to 7 Measurements Jacket: Bust 38.5; Shoulder to Shoulder 15, Sleeve Length 23.75, Neck to Hem 28.5 Inches Skirt: Waist 25.5, Hip 40; Length 30.25 Inches Scarf: 43 x 7 Inches Era 1940s Label None, appears very neatly hand made at a professional level, interior jacket seams are nicely finished Materials Navy blue lightweight wool suiting with gabardine and sateen woven stripes, navy blue & white polka dot cold rayon Closure Center front navy blue plastic buttons with bound buttonholes on jacket, center front metal zipper fly & hooks/eyes on skirt Condition Excellent Condition Detail Very nice inside and out, looks barely worn; the scarf is not original to the suit, though it's a 1940s era rayon scarf and makes a great pairing Washing Instructions Dry clean *bust, waist and hip measurements are the maximum body measurements that will fit the item *these measurements are not actual fabric widths, as they account for ease *to get actual fabric widths, add 2 inches to the listed bust measurement, 1 inch to the waist, 2 inches to the hip Questions?
