Amazing ranch mink coat with notched collar & patch pockets. 1960s, by epic American designer Hattie Carnegie. Museum decommission that came to me via Augusta Auctions. Sadly, the sleeves are just a bit short on my 5’9″ self. B 40, L 38, fits a women’s M. Very wearable with a super cool mod style. Totally a Penny Lane style look – no your usual mink. (The fox coat with the spiral sleeves will be posted separately – I had no idea I was allergic to fox and my heart is broken!)

Beautiful sturdy construction swing coat with a faille (?) material. It’s ribbed, so the photos strobe a bit. Not sure of the material, maybe a silk blend or rayon. There are some small marks throughout which are shown in photos. I have not tried to clean. There is a tear under one arm. The coat loosely closed measures 46-48” underarm to underarm. I’d recommend for a small to medium frame.

It is an original piece with unique braid details that reflect the Edwardian era. Fully lined. The braided loop frogs and buttons look 1860s. Does have wear to the velvet at the cuffs and back of collar.
Thai is a very expensive coat even back in the early 2000’s. The pleated design and fine tailored fit make it a unique piece that can be worn for any occasion. The rich purple color adds a pop of color to any outfit, and the wool blend material ensures warmth and comfort.
