Wool or other clothing that can’t be machine washed are sanitized and hung out in the sunlight for 1 hour. Even then, expect fuzzies and piling on used clothing.
These flaws aren’t super noticeable when wearing the bodice tho. For being silk the fabric is holding up great, with no fraying or shattering that I could find. All hooks, eyes, and buttons are present!
Beautiful vintage 1950-60’s wiggle pencil dress. The dress is silk & is made in the British colony of Hong Kong. The material would not photograph for me exactly as it looks. The color is more mustard yellow/gold. The camera catches more of the gold. The dress is in beautiful condition, the pictures make it appear fading exists on the garnet, but it doesn’t. Bust 33 inches, waist 24 inches, shoulders 15 inches across and sleeve length 19 inches. The length from waist to front hem is 39.5 inches. The skirt is heavily damaged in areas and there are underarm stains and damage to the yoke of the dress. There is damage at the front waistline closure, It does still have its buttons. It does have an old trunk scent.
