The item is in good condition. The seamstress spent many hours on the handiwork. The product is quite intricate, with an abundance of lace; lingerie of this quality is rare. I can not of course be sure without the feel of fabric, but I also think there is probably a bit of linen in the fabric. The sleeves are not truly fashionable for the 1890’s. This makes sense as fashion books ( the Godeys and Petersons mostly ) did not reach areas past Chicago swiftly.
