Classic Yves Saint Laurent wool knit jacket. The fabric is a wool knit mix of fine white and black lines with knit trim down the front V-neck, cuffs, and hem. (See the picture with the buttons, and some in the label picture, for a fabric close-up.) Three large black buttons close the front. Shaped through the torso with princess seams. Patch pockets. Knit black belt is attached in the back with a small stitch or two. Gentle shoulder pads give a strong-ish shoulder, but not linebacker size. The knit makes this jacket easy to move in and a great traveler. Very versatile from office to dress-casual. A fairly fitted style – please see measurements below. Brand: Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche. Made in France. Size on the label: French label sizing 36, but I assume that this vintage sizing does not exactly comport with today. Sized for a modern 6 or a healthy 4, both pieces are 25″ long so they should hit you at the hipbone or slightly below for full curve effect.

These pants are in pre-owned good condition with a small rip in the seam on the front left leg, and a faint mark on the front right leg above the knee. There’s also a faint stain on the inside waist line (shown in the last photos).
But the French really believe that a woman doesn’t hit her stride until 30. Maybe we’d be better off if we threw away all of that Shein and replaced it with Yves Saint Laurent. It’s all so sexy in the most understated way.
The dreess is a beautiful Deep Purple Velvet. A cleaner or tailor like “Paulette’s” in New York or Jeeves can make this dress perfect.
There is a seam rip under the left armpit that does not go through-not a hole. Inside the left sleeve there is a light stain. These are shown in photos #22-24. The fabric is thin, cotton denim dark blue fitted jacket with flared waist and 7 hidden buttons down the center.
Top of shoulder to wear skirt is sewn to top of dress 16″. Waist where skirt is sewn to top of dress 14.5″. Seems possible the inside seams were altered alittle bit?. See pics / seams running under the arms.
