Here we have an authentic cold weather skirt from the late 19th century. The exterior fabric is a copper brown silk and the lining is a coated cotton. The skirt is lightly pleated into the waist line with a side seam opening that matches the other closed side opening, most likely to access pockets.
Beautiful Mid To Late 1800’s Victorian Era Silk Hand Beaded Bodice Mourning Jacket. Hand beaded with beaded fringe detail at the waist, velvet collar and waist trim, and a small crocheted pocket at the waist. Jacket also has lace detail around the collar although it is incomplete. Some tears and small bits of discoloration seen in photos but otherwise structurally in great condition for its age and most of the beading is still intact. Petite XXS Measurements as seen in photos.
Antique Victorian 1860s Brown & Blue Plaid Silk Dress & Cape. Cape has fringe and bows along the shoulders. Lots of hand sewn details. Silk covered buttons down the front. Cape length: 13”. Great for display, design, decor.
The five buttons even though concealed by the front overlap are worked in silk with a checked pattern, with the buttonholes hand stitched and there are wide black ribbons draped from the front as well, making this very likely the mourning coat of a wealthy woman.
