1960s damask sheath dress and bolero jacket in muted blue silk with gold Lurex woven paisley design. Handmade and very skillfully done! The satin weave of the silk is so lustrous, smooth, and dynamic as it moves in the light. There are some very small instances of wear in the weave as well as light stress in the seams along the bodice darting. On the upshot, the lustrous and intricate nature of the fabric does a lot to hide any imperfections. There is nothing of note at a discerning glance. Construction:The bodice has darts on either side of the front and back vertical to the waist, as well as bust darts.Metal NYNCO blue enameled hidden zipper up center back.100% single stitched. The yoke and bust of the dress and jacket are lined with pink satin. The waist and skirt of the dress are flat-lined with a delicate blue sheer fabric, I believe acetate.3″ skirt hem allowance is bias-bound with baby blue tatted lace. Features:Dress -Wide boat neckline and sleeveless cut that comes just to the edge of the shoulders.Bow accent at top of zipper with snap closure.Small kick slit at center back hem.The shoulders have loops with snap closures for holding your undergarment straps in place.Jacket -Three large matched fabric-covered buttons up the front, the neckline fastened in place by two snap closures.3/4 sleeves perfect for showing off your wrist jewelry. There is an area ~2″ diameter in the lower right front (your right if it’s on) that appears to have sustained water damage. There’s no change in texture only color. It’s visible in the main photo, the lighter spot, however I had to try really hard to capture it. It’s not visible in person. I owned the dress for ten years, wearing it on several occasions, and didn’t know it was there until I decided to sell and put it in front of a ring light. It does not show in regular light and you can see in the photo alongside from the same perspective (but with the jacket on) that it’s not visible without trying even with the ring light on.The thread loop for the hook closure at the top of the zipper has broken. The lining of the dress has a couple clean tears along the flat-lined bodice darting. There are three holes the size of a pin head that I noted. Slight discoloration to the lining at the underarms of the dress. There is a spot of discoloration on the left bust pointed out in photos. This has not been treated. Due to the delicate nature of the fabric this should not be worn if you cannot freely move your arms, bend, or sit without stretching these measurements.
