VINTAGE HATTIE CARNEGIE NAVY SILK w/iridescent Beading DRESS w/JACKET 1940s

This exquisite vintage set from Hattie Carnegie features a stunning navy blue strapless dress with a peplum jacket. The dress is made of 100% silk and is adorned with iridescent beading that adds a touch of shimmer and glamour. The jacket is the perfect complement to the dress, with a waist-cinching peplum design. The dress and jacket are both from the 1940s and are original pieces, not reproductions. The dress has a chest size of 30″ a waist size of 25″ and 36” hips, while the jacket has a chest size of 34″ and a waist size of 28″. The dress has an under arm-to-hem length of 35.5″ and the jacket has a shoulder-to-shoulder width of 17″, 19” sleeves (with a 2.5” fold up) and a length of 23.5″ from the shoulders to the hem. This set is perfect for a special occasion or a vintage lover's collection. The dress has some mild fading, mostly around the waist in the front (see photo #1). There are also several small faint spots. Neither the fading nor the spots are very noticeable due to the shimmery fabric of the dress. Otherwise, the dress is in very good condition. The jacket however, has some major issues, mostly on the shoulders. As can be seen in photos #7-8, the silk lining is discolored and shattered on both shoulders. As can be seen in photo #9, the silk on one shoulder is faded and shattered. In photo #10, the other shoulder is also faded, and beginning to shatter. There is also some fading on the sleeves. Otherwise, the rest of the jacket is in very good condition.

This gorgeous green cocktail dress and swing coat two piece matching evening ensemble includes a fitted sheath dress with spaghetti straps, a sweetheart neckline, bow trim accents, a back zipper closure, stays boning sewn inside the bodice, a green tulle net crinoline petticoat sewn underneath and has a « By Lorrie Deb San Francisco » designer label Size 11 tag sewn inside. The dress measures 42 inches long, with a 32 inch chest, 24 inch waist and 42 inch hips. Included is a matching fabric swing style loose fitting coat with a pleated full back, large rounded Peter Pan collar, bow tie snap closure at the neck with an open front, 3/4 length sleeves and is unlined. The coat measures 42 inches long, with a 42 inch chest and 18 inch long sleeve. It is in excellent condition. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable art! Vintage 1950’s Suzy Perette Ivory Silk Faille Dress with Framed Neckline

You know, I could see this being a fantastic wedding dress for those inclined to make the leap into the unknown but no matter how you slice it, this is a dress that is a refreshing switch from black black black. Don’t get me wrong, I wear black all the dang time but when I am certain everyone else is wearing black (or even red), i want the spotlight on me. Don’t you? Suzy Perette from the 1950’s, constructed like an old haute couture dress with an interior gathered skirt lining that fastens at the waist. Ivory silk faille holds its shape without being stiff or making crunchy ruffling noises when you move. Unlined through the gently pleated bodice, the neckline and under the bust is framed in a double flange like a matted picture in a frame. Bow at the right side of the ribcage with a rhinestone brooch that almost looks like a stylized rabbit so with the bow « ears » and the pin and the color, it has a little twist. Zips in back, integrated cap sleeves into the bodice, the bust measures 38″, waist 25″ and length 47″. I swear this is my mother’s body when she was young. I would recommend this for a size 6 with a C or small D cup. If you are small-cupped, it’s probably not the best fit. Excellent condition. No stains – no stains. Did I mention no stains?
