Quite swank, utterly late 1940s to 1950s Vegas, definitive mid century glamour. It has history, was, most likely, lovingly worn and cared for and endured far more years than most of us – in most cases 60 to 100 plus years.
MATERIAL: rayon crepe with taffeta lining. Black rayon crepe tailored blouse. Heavily beaded collar and lapels. Unlined except for the peplum.
Often for proper fit, hang, and wear ability, pieces will need to be altered and/or adding a hook or snap here or there, with a seam closure or strengthening needed. DATING TO THE 1950’S. TOP EDGE IS FINISHED IN LACE WITH HOOK AND EYE CLOSURE IN THE FRONT.
In a Google search, I can only find one other one that is identical and it is a vanity fair brand. This slip dress has no tags is shown on a 35 inch busted mannequin with room to spare. It is wounded because in several places, in the pleating near the hemline, the stitching has broken from stretching and in one place, It looks like somebody tried to iron it. Those damages are shown in the last two pictures. I think it could be shortened above the burned area and the lace could be added back on or it could be worn as is as a slip.!
This shirt, originating from India in the 1990s, features intricate beadwork and sequins in a classic black color, perfect for eveningwear occasions.
Very elegant sheer black lace blouse has a floral design (I think they are iris) and net cuffed sleeve with a little fold down sheer collar. The waist seam has a sheer non-lace peplum under it. In excellent condition, there may be one or two very tiny holes in the already openwork net lace.
Black faille material. Faint white discoloration on top of shoulder. Looks like it use to have a hook and eye close but no more. Faint under arm discoloration under arms. Velvet snowflake detail with red and clear rhinestones.

This beautiful Victorian bodice is made from black silk faille. It has covered buttons in front, 1 needs to be sewn on. It’s trimmed with pretty black seed bead appliques. It’s lined in a check cotton, the waist tape needs a hook and eye. Wear on the top edge of the collar and a few small rubbed spots on the shoulder of the sleeve. This black silk Faille mantel was beaded with jet beads in the 1880’s. There is some loss to the beading but it is overall good condition. The silk lining has age related wear. See photos. There are some loose threads. The beaded detail is amazing. Some people call these capes. The shoulder measurement is 15 inches across and from the shoulder to the end of the beaded tassels in front is 24 inches. The dress I have it on has a 32 inches around bust.
